01.04.2019

Thanks to a grant by FAPESP, Luisa Maria Gomes Buzzo from Universidad de Sao Paulo (Brasil) will work in our group for four months.

We warmly welcome Luisa Maria Gomes Buzzo, a student from Universidad de Sao Paulo (Brasil). Thanks to a grant by FAPESP she will work in our group from 1 April to 31 July, 2019. Her research will focus on the galaxy NGC1487, which actually is an interacting system with two galaxies in the process of merging. Exploiting spectroscopic data from the MUSE instrument at ESO’s VLT she will map spatially resolved the chemical enrichment and the velocity field of the system. In comparison to simulations we will get a better understanding how merging affects galaxy evolution.
